Hot Bite Update – February 4, 2017
Hot Bite Update
February 4, 2014 – I just got a report from one of my captains’ Brett Tennant. He has been offshore hammering the Amberjack and even caught Pensacola’s first Cobia. His report is listed below.
Good morning! This is Captain Brett Tennant with your offshore Hot Bite Report for the Mid Pan Handle. This week the weather has been beautiful and so have the seas. The bite is going strong on any of the local wrecks. Amberjack are being caught in a variety of ways including jigging with large vertical jigs in the 7 to 11 ounce range, free lining live eels, and butterflied big baits on the bottom. You better bring heavy tackle for these bad boys! Scamp Grouper and Vermillion Snapper are being caught with live bait or fresh squid on chicken rigs with light leaders under 30 pounds. Blackfin and Yellowfin Tuna are being caught by chunking fresh cut Bonita, trolling, and jigging. Snapper and Triggerfish are thriving but remain closed until further notice. Happy fishing and this is your Offshore Hot Bite from Captain Brett Tennant.
Captain Brett is our newest Captain with Fish Happens Charters. He is a dedicated family man and a hardcore fisherman. Give us a call today and book a trip with him and get in on this hot fishing bite.
